St. Margarets Roof Restored Thanks to National Churches Trust Grant

Posted May 2025

We’re thrilled to share some great news—thanks to a generous £5,000 grant from the National Churches Trust (NCT), urgent repairs to the roof and downpipes at St Margaret’s have now been completed.

These repairs were flagged as a high priority in our 2024 Quinquennial Report, which highlighted the risk of serious damage from ongoing water ingress. With this vital funding in place, we’ve been able to restore the roof to its original condition and protect the building for future generations.

The work was carried out by Wakehurst Roofing, a skilled father-and-son team from the local area. They were recommended by our architect, Jonathan Cerowski, who also serves on the Diocesan Advisory Committee.

There’s still more to do—further restoration work is scheduled over the coming months—but completing this first phase has been a huge step forward.

We’re incredibly grateful to the NCT for their support. Without their help, this essential project simply wouldn’t have been possible.
