Childrens Activities

Before we read this week's Gospel reading, a gathering prayer...can you shout the bits in bold!

Father God loves us;  Good news for everyone

Jesus love us;  Good news for everyone

The Holy Spirit loves us;  Good news for everyone

Good news for us; Good news for everyone

This Sunday's Gospel reading is John 14 15-21 either read it yourself from your own Bible or use www.biblegateway.com.

Once you have read through the reading, how about singing this song - make sure you join in with the actions!

Activity for now:

Jesus big instruction to us is to love one another. If we love one another it can show what Jesus is like. We are going to make a badge as a reminder that loving Jesus means loving others.

Cut out a red card heart and a white card heart that are exactly the same size. In the middle of the white heart, write the word LOVE. Cut the red heart in half vertically and glue the outer curved parts to the top of the white heart so that they fold open like doors to reveal the word 'love' on the inside.

Tape a safety pin to the back of the white heart to make a badge.

Activity for this week:

Can you make some heart shaped biscuits? Perhaps you could decorate them with names of special people that you can't be with at the moment or that have helped you or those you love e.g. Nan, Doctor, cousin etc.

Prayer for today:

Lord Jesus Christ, you have called us to love God and love our neighbours as ourselves. Give us the Holy Spirit to help us follow your commandments and to live in peace, hope and love. Amen
