Whether our name begins with A, M, or C, Jesus welcomes us if we're 14 or we're 3. Thank you, Jesus for welcoming us today. Help us to love you more as we listen, talk and pray. Amen
Today we explore what we need to let go, in order to welcome others.
This Sunday's reading is John 12. 20-33 either read it yourself from your own Bible or use www.biblegateway.com .
Activity for now:
Sit and chat with someone at home:
Have you ever experienced not fitting in or being the 'odd one out'?
How might the Greek people have felt when they asked to meet Jesus?
What could we do to make sure we are welcoming to everyone?
You have 60 seconds to fill your hands with as many items as you can safely carry. Once your hands are full, try and wave, hug or shake hands with someone else.
The only way to make that possible to to let go of what ever you are holding onto.
It's the same in life, we can't welcome others if we are weighed down with other things. We have to let them go first in order to make others feel welcome.
Extra Craft Activity:
Make a welcome sign. Write on a large piece of paper 'All are welcome'. Now draw lots of pictures of different people you know around the words, or perhaps you could use photos of people. When you meet somebody new you can add them to your picture.
Activity for this week:
When something worries or distracts you, imagine letting it go into God's hands.
Prayer for today:
Help us Jesus, to follow you because you have promised to be with us. Amen
