Gathering prayer:

The stone is rolled away: Alleluia! Alleluia! The tomb is empty: Alleluia! Alleluia! Jesus is alive: Alleluia! Alleluia! Jesus is here: Alleluia! Alleluia! Amen

Welcome:

Today we enter the mystery of Easter.

Gospel:

This Sunday's reading is John 20 1-18 either read it yourself from your own Bible or use www.biblegateway.com .

Or you can watch a video of the Easter Story here The Easter Poem – Our 2016 Easter story for children - YouTube

Song for today:

Woah He Is Alive - YouTube

Talk Activity for now:

Sit and chat with someone at home:

Who are Mary, Peter and John?

What sort of things had happened before this story?

Peter and John may have thought someone had taken Jesus' body away.

Can you retell the story?

Extra Activity:

Paint or write the words 'Jesus is alive' or pain an Easter picture on some rocks. When you are finished varnish them or cover in PVA glue.

When they are dry build the rocks into a cairn and pray: Thank you Jesus, that you didn't just die, but that the stone was removed from the tomb so we can see that Jesus is alive. Amen

Maybe you might like to hide your rock somewhere in the community for someone else to find.

Extra Craft Activity:

Make an Easter Garden.

Fill a large tray with sand, then add twigs and flowers. Use a cardboard tube to make the tomb. Put a stone by the tomb and a piece of fabric inside. Add some play figures for Mary, Peter and Jesus. Now you can retell the story using this.

Activity for this week:

Share your favourite part of the Easter story with your friends. Tell them how it made you feel.

Prayer for today:

Dear God, Thank you for sending your Son Jesus to die for us, and take away our sins. Thank you that we can go and share the great news that Jesus Christ is risen with everyone we meet. Amen
