Gathering prayer:

Jesus sometimes we are like Thomas, we want more evidence before we believe in you. We are sorry when we don't believe your Word or those who share your good news with us. Amen

Today we explore how we come to believe.

This Sunday's reading is John 20 19-31 either read it yourself from your own Bible or use www.biblegateway.com .

Or you can watch a video of the story here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_QcGnwilXI

Song for today:

Talk Activity for now:

Sit and chat with someone at home:

What do you understand by the word sin?

Sin is the bad things that people do, that go against what God wants.

What does the word Messiah mean?

In the Bible, the word Messiah means the anointed one - someone chosen by God to save the Jewish people, and also a title used for Jesus.

Extra Activity:

Create a storyboard for the reading. Choose the sections which you think are the most important elements of the story. Make sure the scenes go in order. Can you now retell the story using your storyboard?

Extra Craft Activity:

Make a large banner with 'BELIEVE' written in large letters in the centre. You might like to paint your hands and make hand prints around the letters to show you believes.

Activity for this week:

Look out for signs this week that help you believe in God e.g. someones kindness, the beauty of nature. What 'evidence' helps you in your faith?

Prayer for today:

God of truth: for those who doubt; give them certainty. For those in darkness; give them light. For those who need to see; give them living proof. Amen
